The Underground comes to you once again with the annual Slam Poetry Competition! 5 willing poets will have the opportunity to showcase their poetic prowlness in a civil yet competitive battle of words. The prize to be won is a montary reward of $50 and the title of this year’s Slam Champ! The voices you hear have come to Brooklyn, from Syracuse, we are The Underground. A great big shout out to The Dekalb Market for allowing us to host the 2012 UPS: NY Edition Poetry Slam Competition last night. The setting was a small intimate one of engaging and dynamic poets battling through explosive expressions leaving only one standing as the champ. She is none other than Olukemi A Taiwo, a London native who is completing her year long internship with JPMorgan Chase here in the states. Thank you Dekalb Market!
